Its tries to pry them open, to let itself say goodbye to me before it disappears behind the houses and hill in that set the mark for my horizon. I ignore it, my mind turning to darker thoughts. "Its not fair," I say aloud. "They forgot him. Why is he being punished for that?" I peer deeper into myself. "Why can't he come home again?" Screaming bloody murder.

I was left for dead.
